Service was absolutely shocking. It seems that the staff are not trained at all. They were friendly and manager tried to be helpful but there was basically just no service at all. Had to ask for menus, ask if we could order drinks, drinks took 25 minutes to come, then no glasses, then had to ask for menus again to order food, ordering process was shocking - I cannot believe what a mission it was just to place an order for food. Then when food came - half the food came out, other half took another 30 minutes, by this time people were starving. Waiters would bring food to the table not knowing if it was for our table or not and they would just place it on the table. Had to ask for cutlery then all the plates, knives, forks, etc were basically just dumped in a basket at the end of the table, one person's burger took so long we were all finished eating by the time it arrived. We had a nice lunch but that was mainly due to the setting. The pizzas and tapas were nice but we ordered two burgers for two kids and they were almost raw in the middle. Another person's fish wasn't cooked all the way through. It is actually such a pity the service is so bad because the venue is so lovely and it would be great to make it a regular lunch place but I'm just not sure we would go back again soon given the service we had.

We wanted to eat at the Roundhouse for a work function lunch as I had heard the Roundhouse was excellent. We booked, but when we arrived we soon realised that lunchtime is served outside by the other restaurant on the property called the Rumbullion. The menus are photocopied and patrons are asked to mark what they want to eat on paper - this was not the top restaurant I had heard about. The menu was very basic with a lot more "snacky" type foods, and a cheese burger, fish and chips or some bone marrow dish. It was very light and quite dull, I was extremely disappointed. The staff were definitely not trained as they did not clear our empty glasses, or take away dirty plates very fast, they also forgot to bring eating utensils and seemed to need a lot of guidance from patrons on how this whole restaurant thing works. I would still like to visit the actual Roundhouse for dinner, but don't recommend Rumbullion at all!

A garden with a view - that is what Rumbullion is about. Situated in the Glen above busy Camps Bay it is the best place to be on a sunny weekend lunch. Beautiful views and serene. If you want to join the beach crowd it is only five minutes away. And the food is excellent. The tapas style menu is great to have for a bigger party. Order a bit of everything and share. The pizzas are a perfect starter. Other things we enjoyed at our lunch a couple of weeks ago were smoked trout, the tapenade, the caprese salad and the bread! Hamburgers are a more filling alternative. Some of us only had the cheeses and the bread and some excellent red wine. When it comes to the service it is a little up and down. But some of the staff are in training so you just have to go with the flow. However, when our bill (finally) arrived it was not adding up in any way. Not a figure right. Still, it was a lovely experience and our friends from overseas were more than happy and have a memorable lunch memory to bring home.
