I first went to Isabella's when it first opened last year. Although the menu was great; the service not so much. I put this down to teething problems, but service did not improve on my second or third attempt at eating there. I gave it a break for a while and returned today after giving them time to improve on their service. I'm sad to say I will not be returning to Isabellas again. They have a wide variety on their menu, but upon ordering a red latte, I was told they didn't have any. I then tried to order a decaf coffee, but this was also not possible. So we had to settle for tea.... in a dirty cup! I brought this to my waiters attention who replaced the cup. We then ordered a muffin and a slice of savoury tart from the table of baked goods. By the time it arrived, my tea was cold. I don't know why it took more than 20 minutes to bring the food to the table. What horrified us more was watching the waiter pick cheese off the plate with my muffin and have a nibble whilst waiting to reheat the tart! They then proceded to feel the tart with an ungloved hand to make sure it was warm. Surely this goes against health and safety regulations? ? Isabella's you have a great menu and a beautifully decorated tea shop, but your approach really needs to improve! The entire experience is ruined by slap dash attitude from your staff and poorly stocked kitchen. Perhaps you could get some tips from you other branch in Durbanville where it is a far more pleasant experience.
