Owners description

The bistro/bakery/boutique and interior studio Soet Emporium sits on the corner of Durbanville’s Oxford Street and Wellington Road like a bold statement. It’s where friends, mothers, business people, fashionistas and décor enthusiasts come to indulge in an impressive variation of services, offered by Soet Bistro, Soet Café Bakery, Güzel Interiors and Zillah Prêt-à-Porter. It’s innovative and fresh – a fusion of chic elegance and rustic cosiness.Soet puts its creative stamp on traditional favourites such as exceptional burgers, famous gourmet wraps and fouda cheese – a delightful discovery somewhere between gouda and feta. There are freshly baked artisan bread and a variety of confectioneries such as the exquisite baked lilac cheesecake available. It is an ideal venue for special occasions, with separate areas. With catering being part of their offering they provide everything needed to host a unique event whether in store or at another venue. The kiddies play area, called the “Jol Kol”, gives mothers some “me-time” and the opportunity to have their cake and eat it – in peace.

User reviews

  • A noisy, badly planned coffee shop. We were seriously squashed in as though the owners want to get maximum bumbs on seats. Everyone that walked passed bumped the back of my chair and when you try to enter the booth seat, your bum is literally on someone elses table. We were horribly dissapointed. We sat around and waited for someone to eventually take our order. When our tea arrived there was no teaspoons to stir. Our cake only arrived when our tea was half finished and our cake platter, well presentation was just a mush of cake on a plate. There were no side plates so you end up reaching for cake across the table. The red velvet cake was bland and the peanut butter cake was ontop of the oreo cake so it was a guess as to what we were eating! we are very disappointed with our service and wont be back any time soon.

  • Service terrible, food way over priced for the quality you get.
