Food:

Chef Geoffrey Murray marries the elegance of fine dining with good, honest ingredients. Contemporary global flavours infuse dishes of local (when possible) and seasonal produce like Knysna oysters, buttery sea scallops, homemade foie gras and organic duck.

Wine:

Over 550 different wines, including South African and imported varieties, can be found in the multi-award winning cellar. Try the house wine, a fine 2003 shiraz from Veenwouden in Paarl.

Service:

Formal service is on cue for every aspect of the meal, including excellent wine stewards. The staff work smoothly as a team to insure guests are happy.

Ambience:

Earthy colours and sculptural shapes add a sense of relaxed elegance to the décor. Booths are quite cosy for intimate dinners, and plush textures keep the noise level subdued.

Dining options offer excellent value, like the ‘from farm to table’ menu, which highlights the best of local producers. Offered off-season from Sunday to Thursday. (CP, October 2011)
