Food:

From burgers to Karoo lamb chops, pasta and even ice cream and chocolate sauce (homemade, of course!) this is a perennial family favourite. The softness of the pasta is a giveaway that it's freshly made and, when in season, full of hand-picked wild mushrooms with crispy bacon bits. Revel in the retro feel of peppermint crisp tart when it comes to dessert. The flavours are just as creamy and decadent as you remember!

Wine:

Nice mix of varietals by both bottle and glass and well priced.

Service:

Long-serving and well versed in the menu, keen to help and anticipate any needs.

Ambience:

There's a genuine warmth to this place – perhaps because it's been family-owned since 1992 and regular patrons have become friends. Reed-thatched open rafters add to the spacious feel while the historic prints on walls and tables hark back to a more relaxed era.

And...:

Don't be put off by all the iron steeds parked out front and leather-clad bikers inside. They're almost part of the family. (FM, September 2010)
