Food:

The menu is much more comprehensive than you would think. Yes, sushi is there (and it’s very good) but there are also options like hot soba noodles with tempura prawn and vegetables, simple fish and chips, grilled whole line fish, thai-curried mussels and more. Modern takes on sashimi are light and fresh and introduce flavours like sesame oil and chilli. If you only get to order one thing on the menu, don’t look past the soft-shell crab, wrapped in soya paper and served with ponzu sauce.

Wine:

Considering the extent of the food, the wine list is small. Though there are a few served by the carafe that suit the ‘in and out’ crowd nicely.

Service:

Decent enough. Most waitrons could do with a bit more personality and interaction but you can hardly blame them: the place is usually packed and they’re always scampering from table to table.

Ambience:

It’s in a shopping centre so you don’t have much of a view. What you do have is an opportunity to do some serious people watching. Tables are close together and there’s an enjoyable, ‘organised chaos’ kind of energy.

And...:

The deli section is massively underrated. Browse for wine and buy some of the freshest seafood around. (AF, October 2011)
