We went for lunch at Eaglevlei for my birthday. It was a beautiful winters day so we could sit outside and the children could play happily on the massive jungle gym. The service was unobrussive yet efficient and view of the Simonsberg amazing. We were alittle cold in the shade , but the watress very kindly put the blind down and put on the gas heater. We shared a tapas/mezze platter. We chose the vegetarian option. It is alittle taste of everything in 2 bite portions, which is lovely if you cannot make up your mind. I then had the ostrich steak which was tasty and succulent. The chef then came to our table to chat and presented me a platter of desserts which we all shared. There is also a little childrens menu...although they were almost too busy to eat.,. The wine is very reasonable and we drank the eaglevlei chenin and chardonnay which was under R40 a bottle!
