Food
An authentic take on Thai cuisine based on imported noodles, spices and healthy ingredients free of MSG. All the classics are here, from fragrant, spicy soups, satays and salads to tongue-tingling curries (yellow, green and red) and delicious spicy stir fries. The sauces are as good as you’ll get in Thailand, infused with aromatic basil, coriander, coconut, lime leaves, garlic, galangal and roasted chilli paste and cashew nuts.

The dishes come in all shapes and styles, with thick and thin noodles, rice and glass noodles, steamed or fried jasmine rice. This is vegetarian heaven - with a choice of either tofu or protein-rich soya as a substitute for meat. Allergy sufferers can order gluten-free mung bean noodles. Build your own favourite noodle or rice dish from chicken, beef, seafood, prawns, tofu and vegetables.

It's best to share a selection, mixing sweet and sour, spicy and savoury. The stand-out dishes are the yummy tom yum prawn soup, classic Phad Thai, a jungle stir-fry and roasted chilli tamarind duck. An extensive sushi menu is fresh and very good - with a spicy spin on all the classics.

Drinks
Good selection of fruit juices, cooldrinks and tea.

Service
Thai cuisine in the fast lane is prepared by real Thai chefs behind the glass in the open kitchen.

Ambience
Relaxed, family-friendly with a grey chic modern interior.

And…
A chilli meter (green, yellow and red) shows the spice thermometer from mild and medium to hot - or chicken out and order no chilli (marked with black star). There is half-priced sushi available from an extensive sushi menu, 12 - 6pm, Tuesday to Sunday.

Asian cuisine made with top-quality ingredients by Thai chefs ensures consistently authentic fare on a healthy, good-value menu. Fragrant Thai dishes made with fresh herbs, spices and 100% natural ingredients (no MSG) infuse every big bowl of noodles. Stick to house specialities like chicken satay, tom yum goong and pad Thai. The place for a quick spice fix – from a kaleidoscope of green, yellow and red curries to stir-fries and seafood on thick, thin, glass or rice noodles. Vegetarians should make like a panda and eat bamboo shoots and leaves – or try terrific tofu stir-fries.

    Wine
A concise selection of affordable Cape wines and Thai beer.

    Service
Freshly prepared to order, the food reaches your table faster than you can learn to say Ba-Mee prik-phao gai (number 514 on the menu).

    Ambience
Watch Thai chefs do the wok and roll in the open glass kitchen in a minimalist and modern noodle bar.

    And...
Some chilli dishes can be ordered without chilli – while dishes marked with a red chilli can be ordered mild, medium and hot (don’t be silly). (GH, September 2010)
