Right... So here's my review of who I think is the BEST eat out spot in the world. Let's start at the food. I travel a lot around our beautiful country. I drive. Not fly. Therefore I pitstop and grab a munchie on the road. Recently, I've been stopping this trend of my belly, not because I'm getting fat, no no no... Because I'm not fat. (Well rounded, sure!) I choose rather to drive quicker (safer too, not exceeding the speed limit)... In order to either get to the nearest juicy Rocoburger joint in Cape Town... Or to the BEST ROCOJOINT IN THE COUNTRY, back home at PINESLOPES RocoMamas Fourways. The burgers are ALWAYS SOFT AND TENDER AND SMASHED TO PERFECTION. Grilled as they should be, always the right grams... Because I secretly keep a scale in my pocket, and made by awesome staff, that are constantly praised and given the puuuuuuuurfect training. Salads? Well... Gimme a Greek salad anytime... The feta is fresh, the cucumber crunchy, the tomatoes sweet, the balsamic sauce... I drink what's left over and I suffer with heartburn... It's THAT GOOD. The bacon and coleslaw... Huh... Crispy and as we say innie Kaap: 'naai... Die vriete is TO DO!' Wings? Pfffffff.... They make me feel like I can fly. Fall off the bone... You can SUCK the meat off the bone (good for me cos my teeth went away with my drug addiction years ago... DON'T DO DRUGS... just saying!)... Plus... And here's a super delight... (Little history here...) I pride myself on eating ONLY at the RocoMamas establishment, so I've had the pleasant opportunity to eat at MANY (Randburg, Rosebank, Rivonia, East Rand Mall, Green Point, PINESLOPES... And soon Stoneridge... And wherever I can take a selfie with the managers. Cos I love RocoMamas.) rocomamma places... But here at PINESLOPES... Fourways... My second home... I've come to really enjoy their particular wings, sauces, burgers and salads... I dunno what it is... But this RocoMamas gets my stomach waking me up during an afternoon nap, sleepdrive to PINESLOPES/Fourways (not breaking the speed limit...) to be fed by the staff. K... So... The food gets my 5 stars. SERVICE.... Pfffffff.... I've NEVER... NEVER EVER... encountered a more well trained, helpful staff. They know their Rockstar from their Bacon and cheese from their chilli bomb cheese. They know the different combinations that you can have... Obviously you make your own... But perhaps some things don't gel... With a particular want... And they know this... They offer their assistance, often preempting the client... Which a lot of eateries just don't... This is TRAINING!!! The staff are caring and passionate, they know exactly how many serviettes to give you based on the Rocoburger make of your choice cos they take note! Not just leave you wishing you had longer sleeves to wipe the remnants of sauce from your mustache... (Why, I just lick it off or save it for later... I have a mustache!!!). They smile, they enjoy their work and they're HELPFUL IN ALL ASPECTS... SEATING ARRANGEMENTS ETC. Then there's the OWNER... WOW... WOW... WOW.... WOW... MARINA APPLEBAUM. I'VE COME TO KNOW. This woman is AMAZING. You know when you go to a classical pianist concert (I'm a piano technician) or an Eminem concert (I'm a BIG FAN) or go and watch a really prolific, talented artist... Doing what they know and are passionate about? WELL THEN... OFF YOU GO TO ROCOMAMAS FOURWAYS AND WATCH THIS VERY PRETTY LADY IN ACTION. 'Oh... (You ask)... How will we know it's Marina Applebaum when we go to this RocoMamas in Fourways? Most owners of restaurants hide in the office, eating their food and barking orders...?' Just spend 5 minutes sitting down and ordering (time estimated for her place when it's full to actually get your order... In my experience!)... AAAAAAAAAAANNNND.... you'll know EXACTLY WHO SHE IS. She greets each and every customer (I prefer client... Because they ALWAYS COME BACK), makes sure that they are comfortable and cared for... And get THIS... SHE DOES NOT HANG AROUND MAKING A NUISANCE OF HERSELF AT TABLES. SHE CONVENTRATES ON HER PASSION AND THE BUSINESS AT HAND. THIS CHICK PUTS THE ROCKING I TO ROCOMAMAS. She treats her staff with love and respect, yet is NO PUSHOVER. AND IS KIND! (True story... I was eating my burger, staring out the glass door, a guy popped in for a takeaway order, he got his order in record time and bolted out the door in a hurry... Fumbled... Dropped ALL HIS FRIES IN THE CARPARK... MARINA saw this and calmly ordered the same fries for him quietly to her staff... Went over to the dude and handed him his order of fries... AND EXTRA... at no cost!... Now who does that in today's age? And... Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES WOULD SHE HAVE HIM PAY FOR IT AS [quote] ACCIDENTS HAPPEN. LOVE LOVE LOVE.) Ambiance.... With all of the above in my rather lengthy, but necessary 'review'... Is there really a need for me to be explaining the ambiance... But to say... GO TO THE BEST BURGER EATOUT RIB AND WING AND SALAD FEST THIS SIDE OF THE WORLD... ROCOMAMAS FOURWAYS... I LOVE YOU GUYS.... If I could rate them...
