I celebrated my 35th birthday on Saturday 30/03/2019 at the Granary Cafe-Silo Hotel. Going to the venue I had a few reservations as a few associates had told me that the food was expensive and not worth the value. I should expect average service. I shouldn't raise my hopes. What can I say. I recommend this venue on any given day. From the welcoming smile of the doorman to the reception staff and waitering team. The food was absolutely wonderful and the integrity of the ingredients was still in tact. Please go visit this beautiful establishment should you wish to experience the epitomy of great service and food. I eat out regulalry so they have the raised the standard for me.

The overall experience was excellent. We made a reservation and asked for a view. We got the best seat in the house at the window. The waiter was extremely pollite and very helpful. The starters were limited, and we therefore went straight for the mains. Their Ribeye is a must have and we were not dissapointed at all. For dessert we had the hot chocolate cake and this was also to die for. Overall I had an amazing experience and will definitely return.

We got there a few minutes before the reservation time and were actually impressed with the reception. I called the day before to make the reservation and specified were I wanted to seat. The instructions were disregarded and they placed us anywhere. The service wasn’t that great, it took too long to get the food. The starters were not much atractive so we skipped it. We stood for 45 minutes chatting when the food arrived. My companion had a seafood curry, wich there was nothing as a side of the meal ( rice or nan ) when she was basically done eating the brought some flavors on a side that were supposed to have arrived with the dish and a piece of nan that tasted horrible. She also complained that the meal didn’t taste as cooked, she felt it was uncooked still. I’ve had a 300g steak wich also came with no side. It was served just the steak as it is with barely no sauce. I’ve order medium rare and I’ve gotten a medium well done steak. Quite dry. And to make it worse, it was cold, not as if it was cooling but as if they had made it and than forgotten about it somewhere in the kitchen. It was not a good experience! I paid for the view wich on the table I was sitted on was for another building and could basically see anything else. It was ridiculous expensive meals wich were not even well prepared. The steak was almost R400 and the curry almost R 300 I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. We were completely disappointed after all we have read online. If you decide to go though I only wish good luck maybe it was just our bad luck

The meal was tasty and well prepared. The views are spectacular.
