COY Restaurant: Where design meets culinary vision at the V&A Waterfront

Situated at the V&A Waterfront, COY Restaurant lies hidden between two busy precincts. The space features a modern and sleek Afro-chic interior, with all furniture pieces designed and manufactured locally. It’s an interior that reflects both the African continent’s love for texture and the menu’s focus on African cuisine and cooking methods. The restaurant’s dark colour palette brings into focus the pristine views of the surrounding docks and Table Mountain.

It is this thoughtful approach to design that saw COY Restaurant claim the prestigious Eat Out VISI Style Award at the 2025 Eat Out Woolworths Restaurant Awards.

By seamlessly blending local craftsmanship with contemporary African aesthetics, the restaurant has created more than just a dining space – it has crafted an environment where every design element tells a story that enhances the culinary experience.

This marriage of thoughtful interior design with authentic African cuisine creates an atmosphere where diners don’t just taste the food – they experience it in its full cultural and aesthetic context.
