Chef and The Fatman

Had lunch at the Chef and the Fat Man on Witkoppen with my family and a friend today. What an unmitigated disaster! Despite their extensive wine list, when I asked for a particular wine, I was told that they only had three choices available - take it or leave it! I requested a medium rare 300g rump steak which arrived as a luke-warm, carbon-copy of the well-done 200g rump steak ordered by our friend. My requested side-order of vegetables never appeared. My wife ordered a baked potato with her burger and was given chips. When she pointed this out to the waiter, he then returned with mash, claiming that the baked potatoes were no longer available. The so-called live entertainment was loud, intrusive and amateurish making normal conversation impossible. Overall, the place looks run-down and dilapidated and poorly maintained, if maintained at all. Service was painfully slow with the waiters being nowhere to be seen most of the time. When my daughter complained to the manager, the response was a shrug of the shoulders and the comment that "the staff cannot cope". What a waste of time and money!
