This was my third visit to Silver Orange. As ever, the setting and food are absolutely spectacular. I honestly can't praise the chef highly enough, and the quality of the menu and beauty of the presentation make this a WELL worthwhile adventure out of the city. The same cannot be said about the service. I was disappointed by the sharp decline in quality of service since I last visited.
The waiter took absolute ages to bring us menus or offer us drinks, then when it came to ordering rushed us somewhat, would not take a starter and main order separately, on two occasions we had to stand up and go and look for him if we needed something, and waiting for the bill became so ridiculous that it turned into a joke between us - three waiters had to be asked!
I realise that the place gets busy, I'm not unreasonable. But this was simply not acceptable.
This is a premium restaurant, premium service is expected. Sorry Silver Orange, I still think you're outstanding but your staff need to sharpen up a lot if you're going to maintain your reputation.
