ELL – Eat Love Life

We ended up having an accidental lunch at ELL on Spookfontein (as Creation was fully booked) and what a find it was! The restaurant has been there for about a year, and the building has been sensitively and beautifully designed, maximising the incredible views of the valley. The service was warm, friendly and attentive and the pizzas perfectly crisp, with a variety of interesting toppings (prawn & chorizo was the favourite at our table). When we booked, we mentioned that we had 4 small children with us (ranging in age from 3-6) - they had kids' menus and pencil crayons at the ready and had placed us at a table next to a small lounge area stocked with a massive box of Lego. The restaurant doesn't have a license, but in the corner is a tasting area serving Spookfontein's organic wines, which you are able to purchase to enjoy with your lunch. Tasting was done at the table and we loved being able to sip our way through their offering during lunch, buying wines to take away with us. All in all a great experience that I am sure we will repeat again soon!
