Empire Burger Co.

Visited Empire Burger Co on their first day of business. We noticed the menu is small - this is good! Every other burger place has so many things to put on the burger that the burger is lost with all the toppings. We don't want to taste sauce, we want the sauce to be a compliment to the deliciousness of the meat. So, the small menu means their not afraid for us to taste the meat! Ordered the Empire Burger. First thing we noticed was the bun. John Markulis, part owner of Puritan Bakery ( producing 36,000 buns every hour for In n Out and many other restaurants) said, "There are two ways you sell a product: eye appeal and taste appeal. And, with a hamburger, the first thing you do is taste a bun," The bun of the Empire Burger was great! Soft, did not absorb the oil of the burger or the sauce. Toasted just right and had a taste that beckoned another bite. Toppings were minimal, but in a good way. Too much and you can't taste the meat. The only thing we missed were the sweet onions that are grown by Wildeklawer. They would have made it the perfect burger. But even without them, this burger was amazing. Chips were great and fresh. We tried one of the cold brewed coffees with cream and sugar. What a delight! We (my wife and I) fought over the one drink. Have to buy two next time! Bottom line - great food! True burgers made to order and definitely worth the wait!
