After strolling through the gorgeous mosque next to the Ottoman Palace, we had dinner. The restaurant's decor is cold and more like a cafeteria .. could do a lot more. BUT the food!! We had some bread with 2 dips - unfortunately I didn't ask what it was. The one dip was yoghurty, the other one dark red, so it could have been eggplant-red bell pepper. But it was soo yummy. We were 4 people, so we order 4 platters with a bit of everything on it. Some chicken drumsticks, some chicken kebabs, swish kebabs, minute steak, riblets, flat meatballs, bulgar wheat on the bottom, grilled jalapenos, tomatoes, lettuce and flatbread with a topping. The chicken was unbelievable soft! It was like butter!!!!! Utterly delicious! The rest of the platter was really good and delicious, nicely flavoured. Dessert was Baklava (yummy), rice pudding (good), some other pudding and then - the highlight, dessert with cheese, Kunefe. It's baked in the oven, so it took a while. But it was utterly delightful!!!!!!!! You have to order this!!!!!! We all had cherry juice and I had Turkish coffee. The bill was R850 for 4 people, a total bargain. Really a must visit!
