Critic's review

Food
At its best, north and south Indian food is deliciously represented. The lamb gosht pasanda is a delicate curry gravy made with almond, cream and saffron. Navratan korma (vegetables and fruit cooked in cashew nut gravy) is noteworthy, and butter chicken an old favourite.

Wine
Middle-of-the-road offerings plus serious wines and champagnes.

Service
Well-intentioned and eager to please.

Ambience
A newly extended enclosed veranda offers daytime sea views and a more atmospheric experience at night. The classic interior has formal table settings.

And...
A range of sweet meats is offered for dessert. (TG, September 2010)

  • Absolutely terrible food. We come from Joburg and for half the price we get superb quality and quantity. This was unbelievably disappointing. Chicken Korma was awful and Naan breads were like heated pita breads. Will never go there again- extremely disappointed. They must only exist as a result of tourists who don't know any better.

  • Worst service, terrible host. Didn't even get to order. Waited 20 min for a menu after being seated. Decided to leave before ordering because If that was there service I can only imagine how bad the food would have been. When we told the waiter we leaving, he didn't even try to retain us as guests and the hostess his behind the glass entrance just looking at us leave. To think we wanted to have a wedding reception at Kashmir... NEVER! Don't know how establishments like these stay open!

  • This must have been the worst curry we have ever eaten. it was not curry, it was almost like the chef was still learning how to cook. we have eaten at many Indian restaurants, this is by far the worst in the country No taste no spice no no taste at all

  • I was taken there for my Fathers Day Meal (Supper). My table was the first to dish from the buffet - Most of the food on the buffet was cold - Explanation given by waiter: the food was cooked in the morning for the lunch buffet and that I should wait for the warmers to heat the food up or they could warm the food in the microwave oven. My daughter could not eat the cold, stale chicken drumsticks. Only one of the items on the buffet seemed freshly prepared. Taste and quality of food was disgusting and the service was pathetic. Other tables were also not happy with quality of food and service. Horrible experience on a special day. Pathetic !!!
