BICCCS is well-loved in Pretoria and is often packed with professionals grabbing a quick bite and freelancers working away on laptops while enjoying their coffee. They offer a range of sandwiches, wraps and snacks as well as bakery items which are truly delicious. The freshly baked croissants are crisp and buttery and are just perfect when enjoyed with one of their many coffees. In summer months (or anytime the craving strikes), enjoy their home-made gelato in interesting flavours like Liquorice Allsorts, rose water and pistachio.
Their coffees are excellent and are prepared using their signature BICCCS coffee beans which are 100% Arabica, certified organic and free trade. They also offer delectable milkshakes made from their daily gelato flavours .
The service is friendly and efficient. Staff are always at hand to offer you a re-fill on your coffee.
The restaurant has a very laid-back feel to it. Sit outside and enjoy the sunshine while having a quick coffee or grab a table inside to enjoy their baked goods at your own leisure.
Try their succulent rotisserie chickens to take home. They make a great lazy dinner when paired with one of their fresh ciabattas and a simple salad.

Owner Fortunato Mazzone has pitched things perfectly with this eatery. The quality is supreme and the prices competitive. There’s no rush and clients are left to linger as long as they wish. From their creamy scrambled eggs to the crusted herb chicken, coffee any style you want and always the best, Giovanni’s ciabatta and more varieties rolled out constantly, everything is top notch. To crown it all, there’s homemade ice cream bursting with flavour. It’s exactly what you want from this type of venue: quality at a competitive price. Enjoy excellent coffee and toasted sandwiches made with ciabatta, which is enough to get you drooling.
Their coffees are delicious and if that’s not your bag, try a milkshake made of the gelato of the day.
They are a well-trained group, always trying their best.
There’s a nice flow of conversation and you’re very likely to bump into an old friend or colleague. If you’re there to relax, the comfortable couches beckon, but you can also slip into the back to get some pressing work done, as the coffees are kept fresh and constantly coming.
They have just opened a BICCCS Express at the Moreleta Motors Shell Ultra garage on Rubenstein Drive, where you can get your morning cappuccino with crispy croissants in your car while you wait.

You get exactly what you want from this type of venue: quality at a competitive price. To give an idea of what they specialise in, the name stands for bread, ice cream, cake, croissant, coffee and sandwich.
Enjoy excellent coffee and drool-worthy toasted sandwiches on ciabattas. One of their latest innovations is a rotisserie chicken stuffed with grilled lemon and herb crust – it’s quite delicious.
Watch out for anything new that might slip onto their menu, like an adventurous ice cream flavour as part of the creamiest range ever. But you can also grab some of the traditional vanilla or chocolate flavours and savour the intensity. You’re assured of fantastic quality at affordable prices.
They don’t serve wine but, as they're Italian (the franchise is run by the Mazzone family of Ritrovo Ristorante fame), they have excellent coffee in whichever form you want it, from espresso to cappuccino.
Everything runs smoothly, with long-serving staff members who are like family and treat regulars as such.
They’re smart in the way they've set their own style, with comfy couches for those who want to relax, or a more formal section for business meetings and those who want to get some work done. It's the kind of place where you can spend time if you need to catch up with work or a friend or grab a coffee on the run.
Don't leave without some of the best bread around (the recipe is a family secret) or a large tub of ice cream in your favourite flavour.
Josef TalottaThe Waterkloof branch is favoured by many from Pretoria's massive diplomatic corps – and rightfully so. Food icon Fortunato Mazzone's flagship BICCCS (Bread, Ice-Cream, Coffee, Cake, Sandwiches) offers a modern twist on delicious, authentic Italian corner-cafe food. There’s a great lounge atmosphere, whether you want to dine solo, with a coffee and the morning's newspaper, or gather around a boisterous table of amici and/or famiglia. A highlight, delicious in its simplicity, is a slice of pizza. Expect a two-inch thick rosemary-flavoured bread-crust with garlic-infused Napolitana sauce and the just the right amount of mozzarella.
