Sadly my review on Buitengeluk Restaurant is not as nice as the others on your website, but it is something that I think management should be aware of. My husband asked my daughter in law to make a booking for us, to celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary on Sunday 21 September 2014. She called the restaurant on Sunday morning to confirm that the table had been reserved and to make it special for us. Upon our arrival we went to the empty booking desk outside which was filled with menus and no staff member in sight. We asked one waitress, a lady with braids in her hair about our booking and she said, "Just sit at that table over there and she would clean it now", still laden with dirty dishes. When we told her we had a booking she started asking other waiters who were a good few meters away in a loud voice, what she should do. We were told to sit anywhere and they would see to us. All the staff then disappeared and we were left standing there for 20 minutes, after I asked a waiter to call the manager. 20 Minutes later Teddy arrived with the booking schedule and said yes, Cedric's name was on the list and we could sit wherever we liked as due to weather conditions, the table was not where it should have been. Although, by this time, the sun was shining. When we told them a table should have been ready and we have booked, he shrugged his shoulders. We told him that we were leaving and would go somewhere else and he said, OK! I cannot believe the horrendous service and how Buitengeluk managed to spoil a surprise that my husband had prepared a whole week before. I hope this matter will be taken up and I would appreciate an apology in this regard.
