I have NEVER had such a horrible experience. We tried to ordered a bottle of wine for over half an hour, and out of a wine list of about 20 wines, they only had Two Oceans, a bottle that costs R550 or a chardonnay that costs R180. We asked if we can have the Chardonnay for the price of a Chenin since they don’t have ANY of the wines that are reasonably priced, the waiter said he’ll call the manager. The manager refused to come speak to us and it became clear that we won’t be able to have anything to drink. Due to that we asked to get our food take away. We also asked to speak to the manager who still refused to come speak to us. We got the food take away and left, leaving the voucher and money for the starter we ordered. When we got home we discovered that we only got the starter and one main, instead of two mains which we paid for. We called the restaurant and the waiter accused us of leaving without paying. We explained that we left the voucher which was for 2 mains, and R50 for the starter that cost R49. He still continued accusing us of not paying and said we must come and pay. He then said he’s putting the manager on the phone, the manager grabbed the phone and screamed at me “Fuck You!!!”, at which point I hung up the phone. I have never had such a shockingly bad experience at a restaurant, and I was completely speechless at being accused of not paying (when, in fact, we paid for 2 mains and only got one). And I was most speechless about being verbally abused by the manager, who refused to speak to us when we asked her to. it was a horrible, disappointing experience and a complete waste of money. I am truly shocked.
