We had lunch at Stellenbosch Vineyards SWIRL on Thursday 28 September and what a treat it was ! Initially I was disappointed to read it was a tapas style lunch but my disappointment vanished when we were served with the most beautiful and tasty food . - immaculately presented and served with such delightful courtesy. The size of the portions was anything but small and my husband and I agreed that ordering 4 portions was probably one too many ! We had stuffed mushrooms and slivers of rare sirloin bruschetta both fantastic and vegetable croquettes and chicken Tika which was more like a full portion. A highlight of lunch was actual HOME MADE chips from REAL potatoes not the frozen ones we have been faced with in every other restaurant we have eaten in this year !! We drank wonderful Welmoed Sauvignon Blanc at a cost of R48 per bottle ! The following day I paid R46 for a glass of SB in a vineyard not a million miles from Stellenbosch Vinyeyards I cannot recommend Swirl highly enough - far superior to any of the other lunch venues we have visited and would give them 6 stars if possible !! A wonderful Lunch !
