What a waste of our precious time and money. Made a booking and visited Skilpadvlei restaurant on Sunday 26 July 2015 for lunch - my wife and I have not ever experienced such bad service and terrible, bland and cold food being served Fortunately we are aware of three other tables that had the same complaints as we do on the same day. It is an insult to Skilpadvlei's patrons to treat them in such a manner. Reading other reviews and or experiences of customers since 2012, it seems that the management of Skilpadvlei Restaurant do not give a damn about any complaints received as nothing seems to have changed. Terrible. Poor selection of food and nothing for vegetarians except margarita pizza. Poor service - despite being there for over two hours we were not offered desserts or coffee. A place to avoid!

Very underwhelmed. Lovely views but terrible food. Kids didn't drink milkshakes as they tasted very synthetic. Their macaroni cheese was thick and stodgy. Hubby's toasted chicken mayo had NO chicken on it - he had to request a side bowl of the chicken mayo mix to make it into an actual sandwich and my caesar salad was basically a pile of croutons and barely cooked bacon (the smoked chicken was tasty) and I had to ask for the shaved parmeson. Very unappealing. Won't go back.
