Eat Out star restaurant Les Créatifs has closed and is packing up after six years in Bryanston, heading to the Key Art Mile building in Rosebank, below Marble restaurant. The team has been deep in renovations for the past month, with the goal of reopening later in the year if everything stays on track.

“We hope to finish the shopfitting by end of July or early August — hopefully with no delays — and should be back in full operation by mid-August as a new and improved Les Créatifs,” says executive chef Wandile Mabaso.

While the restaurant’s core concept remains intact, guests can expect significant upgrades that reflect a more ambitious vision. Central to the new space is an expanded wine programme and several interesting design elements, including a glass-enclosed chocolatier room positioned in the middle of the dining room. This will showcase an African chocolate experience paired with local brandies, offering diners a different perspective on indigenous ingredients. A private dining room, developed in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz, will provide intimate views into the kitchen, whilst an adjacent bar area will house a cigar lounge complete with a dedicated cigar sommelier. These additions signal the restaurant’s aim to offer a luxury dining experience.

Wandile says, “We will have a tasting menu that’s more culturally driven, with assistance from an anthropologist. We are also including many collaborations with visual artists, ceramic artists, prominent fashion designers for our uniform and textiles, soundscapers, and more. The restaurant will act as my body of work for Yale University’s Faculty of Cultural Preservation, as I’ve been appointed as one of the directors for the Cultural Preservation Global Programme for 2026/2027. Sticking to the ethos and the name of the restaurant, we will be pushing creativity to a whole new global level and challenging the public on a new perspective about food, culture, and fine dining in general.”
