eKasi, koeksisters and cordon bleu at first Soweto Food Festival

If you have a passion for all things food be sure to head to the Hyundai Stadium in Pimville this October, for the first ever Soweto Food Festival.

From 1 – 4 October, South Africa’s most famous township will come alive with a celebration of eKasi food and international cuisine side by side, aiming to facilitate a cultural exchange with food as the platform.

If you’re not watching chefs demonstrate the latest techniques and tastes from around the globe in the New Tastes Zone, try South African beer at The Beer Garden, taste local wines at The Wine Route, or kick back with a single malt at The Whisky and Cigar Lounge.

Local stokvels will also be given the opportunity to present visitors with their unique cooking, while traditional Kasi restaurants will offer a taste of their best-loved traditional dishes.

Tickets are R35 for adults, R10 for children.
