Fine coffee and pink parasols in the city centre

Slick new city-centre café, Caffé deLuca, has recently opened on Greenmarket Square.

The owners, Ian Halfon and Doron Duveen are also the faces behind seafood spot Belthazar and uber-chic café Balducci’s, both at the Waterfront, which leads us to believe that deLuca will be no half-hearted affair.

Indeed, the bold décor assumes its place on centre stage, with Zebrawood finishes, bright pink parasols and crystal chandeliers.

Of course the main attraction is actually their coffee, with an extensive range to choose from. Food includes plenty of light café-style snacks, including paninis, muffins and sticky buns.

We welcome this buzzy spot – it’s certainly in the right place! Look out for more outlets around town in the future.

Open from 6.55am to 6pm Mondays to Sundays (from 7.55am on Sundays).
