Four-star Sunday lunch buffet at family-friendly prices

How many luxury four-star hotels can boast a gourmet-style buffet for just R120 per person? Plus children under eight eat free. Valley Lodge, situated just outside Joburg along the banks of the Magalies River, is such a place. Their recession-friendly Sunday special is perfect for families that want to enjoy a lazy lunch in the country. Expect a feast including starters of cream of butternut soup, garlic mussels, springbok carpaccio and poached prawns and an array of antipasto dishes. Casserole of braised oxtail, duck à l’orange, kingklip with sauce antiboise and vegetarian pasta are all on offer for mains. There’s also a carvery of roast rosemary lamb, peppered sirloin of beef and honey-glazed kassler rib. And if you have space for dessert, there are at least eight to choose from.

Im looking for a restaurant in Cape Town where they serve a “all you can eat buffet” for Sunday lunch. Me and 3 friends are in town tomorrow 7 February.
