Franschhoek ‘Magic of Bubbles’ Cap Classique and Champagne Festival

Calling all bubbly fans: from the 2nd to the 4th December, the Franschhoek ‘Magic of Bubbles’ Cap Classique and Champagne Festival will return to Franschhoek.

Taking place on the sprawling lawns surrounding Franschhoek’s Huguenot Monument, the festival will give visitors the opportunity to taste some of France’s best champagnes alongside the finest cap classiques. The centerpiece of the festival is the grand marquee, where visitors can find the bubbly stalls, restaurant stalls and live entertainment.

Sample bubbly from famous champagne houses Billecart Salmon, Tribaut and Veuve Clicquot along with Cap Classiques from local stars Backsberg, Boschendal, Colmant, Graham Beck Wines, Krone, La Motte, Morena, Môreson, Pierre Jourdan, Simonsig, Steenberg, Topiary Wines and Villiera.

Among the restaurant offerings are Eat Out DStv Food Network Restaurant Award nominees, Babel, Le Quartier Français, The Restaurant at Grande Provence and Pierneef  à La Motte. Other participating restaurants include Bread & Wine, Mange Tout at Mont Rochelle Hotel, La Petite Ferme, L’Ermitage, Monneaux Restaurant, Reuben’s, The Salmon Bar, Dieu Donné, Bistro Allée Bleue and Le Franschhoek.

The theme for this year’s festival is black and white, with the emphasis on hats, and a prize will be awarded to the best dressed couple each day.

Tickets are R180 per person, and include a complimentary tasting glass and a booklet of tasting coupons. Free entry for children under the age of 18.
