Sad news for Joburg restaurant-lovers is that the popular Green Truffle restaurant in Greenside has closed.

Run by the resepcted duo of Wicus Prinsloo and Yash Jithoo, the Green Truffle will be remembered for its innovative, contemporary South African cuisine and friendly service.

In September 2007, Eat Out user Daniela Mai wrote:

The Green Truffle is the best restaurant in the country. Every meal that I have eaten there has been an absolute gourmet experience. Wicus is a master at creating exquisite menus that leave you intrigued and wanting more. The special attention from both Yash and Wicus makes all the difference…

If her review and the glowing comments from other users are anything to go by, the Green Truffle will be sorely missed.
