Joburg café’s Coffee in a Cone (the world’s most Instagrammable coffee) is coming to a café near you

Last year we reported on South Africa’s most Instagrammable coffee, The Grind Coffee Company’s Coffee in a Cone, for which a hot brew is served in a chocolate-lined ice-cream cone. The story quickly spread around the world, going viral like no other, covered by international sites like CNN and The Daily Mail, amongst others.

Creator Dayne Levinrad quickly patented the recipe, which involves lining an ice-cream cone with a compound of different chocolates to withstand the heat of the hot liquid for just long enough. Now, Slo-Jo Trading has bought the sole distribution rights for Dayne’s carefully engineered chocolate cones, which means that the Coffee in a Cone has gone international. It’s currently available in Hong Kong, with more cities to come shortly.

More importantly, it will soon be coming to a coffee shop near you.

Coffee in a Cone is already available at the following list of places:

Royal Coffee Roasters (Edenvale)
Urban Angel Café (West Rand)
Chocolat et Café (Hazelwood)
Circus Circus Beach Café (Durban)
Essence Café (Pietermaritzburg)
I Love Coffee (Claremont)
Love Cake Café (Tygerberg)
Cup & Cake (Blouberg)

Joburg coffee experts Jozi Blue in Glenhazel have it too – although they say the cones are apparently so popular that they’ve already sold out, and are awaiting their next delivery.

Coffee in a Cone will shortly also be available at a range of other locations, including: Brewtown Coffee (Lonehill) Café 2 U – (Woodmead) Foghound (Midrand) Fixies Deck (Lynnwood) Pretville (Hartbeespoort) We can’t wait to see what Dayne and his team will dream up next!
