Knysna’s stylish addition: Café Z

We visit Pezula Resort’s new Café Z, where seasonal produce is the star of chef Geoffrey Murray’s show.

Food
?Zachary’s – the fine dining restaurant option at Pezula Resort, also with executive chef Geoffrey Murray at the helm – spawned the farm-to-table concept, a celebration of local producers and growers that has found a home in the more casual Café Z. Offering a spectrum of lively, satisfying, easy-to-love dishes from burgers and pasta to duck confit, oysters or aromatic ‘Peter’s famous seafood laksa’, the café emphasises seasonal, local and in-house ingredients, including charcuterie. Expect top quality at every turn.

Wine
?Wines are carefully selected to complement Café Z’s menu and are offered in carafe, glass or bottle.

Service
?On busy nights the waiters bustle in coffee-shop mode. They are friendly and helpful.

Ambience 
It’s bright, casual and stylish with richly coloured contemporary African patterns on pillows, screens and comfortable chairs. The mood is convivial around tables decorated with herb and vegetable plants from the on-site garden.

And…
?Elevate the evening to a special occasion by starting with cocktails at sundown in the adjacent champagne bar.
