MESH Club in Joburg nominated for international design award

Joburg’s MESH Club in Rosebank has been shortlisted for a global design award. The International Hotel & Property Awards are held by design magazine design et al, and winners are chosen by online voting. MESH is one of ten shortlisted in the Bar/Club/Lounge category.

The bar and members’ club was designed by StudioA, a Joburg-based boutique interior architecture firm. The designers state that art – by South African masters JH Pierneef and Maggie Laubser as well as contemporary works by the likes of Skullboy – was a big driver that influenced design. Pink custom furniture pieces were selected to juxtapose with rust-finish school-style chairs and leather couches.

By day MESH is an exclusive work and networking space for club members only; from 4pm (except on Sundays) the main bar is open to all and the work space becomes one for play.
