Through chick and thin, rugby legend Siya Kolisi commemorates a new chapter in his career in true local chicken shop style. Following Kolisi’s announcement of his move to the Sharks, we can confirm the Boks captain has landed safely on Durban soil.

Casual Saturday dining saw Kolisi dine alongside new teammates Tendai “The Beast” Mtawarira and Phendulani Buthelezi at Afro’s Chicken Shop in Umhlanga. The Sharks players were all smiles with water and their plentiful Afro’s chicken-filled plates, the chosen food of champions – The Beast opted for his standard order of the full chicken.

The Beast and Kolisi are not shy when it comes to their love of local chicken – as can be seen from an Instagram photo that was posted by Tendai welcoming his friend to the Sharks family with the hashtag #nandosdurbanisnotreadyforus. The only thing “chicken” about the Sharks boys is that they’re sure to be eating vast amounts of it to keep them fuelled and ready to dominate!
