Weekend wine appreciation courses

Keen to expand your wine knowledge just for fun, or as a start to your career in the hospitality industry? The Cape Wine Academy is offering weekend wine appreciation courses covering basic skills in identifying, comparing and appreciating South African wines through taste, sight and smell. All Cape Wine Academy lectures are presented by South African winemakers, diploma graduates and Cape Wine Masters. ?

Participants will be introduced to the five taste sensations, cause-and-effect wine tasting, varieties and cultivars, storage and service, harvesting of quality wine, winemaking practices and tutored red and white wine tasting. (There is an optional examination.)

The cost of the one-day course is R1095 and includes wine tastings, course materials and four international tasting glasses in a branded wineglass carrier pack.?
