The space formerly occupied by The White Room (above Dear Me on Longmarket Street) has been converted into a restaurant, lounge and bar to complement Tjing Tjing Rooftop Bar. The doors to Tjing Tjing Torii open on Tuesday 2 June 2015.

The newly renovated space, featuring elements by local designers Daniel Ting Chong and Jade Klara, is situated on the floor between Tjing Tjing Rooftop Bar upstairs and Dear Me at street level. Tjing Tjing Torii promises an innovative menu with a Japanese twist – sure to appeal to fans of Asian fare, and perfect for sharing with mates and dates. Head chef Christi Semczyszyn will be at the helm of the kitchen, experimenting with new flavours and fresh ideas. This includes anything from pork atsui (hot) dog, with miso pork and ginger sausage, kimchi, kewpie mayonnaise and nori, to crispy rice cubes and oysters with wasabi-ginger dressing. The restaurant will operate from 4pm until late Tuesday to Friday, and from 6.30 pm until late on Saturdays.

Guests book a table in the 40-seater dining room, find a spot in the lounge area or grab a seat at the small bar. The drinks list will be slightly different to that of the rooftop bar, with Torii focusing on wines and spirits in particular. The wine list will feature some limited, unique options by bottle or glass and will change regularly.
