Fournos Dunkeld West is an absolute must visit!!! At other Fournos branches we've been disappointed before with service and the food, but not at Dunkeld West branch ... It's a big shop - seating inside where it's nice and cosy (and you can gaze at all the breads and cakes on display) or outside if the weather permits. There are quite a few managers walking around, checking tables and overseeing the staff. The waitress came with a smile and gave us good service. It was so lovely to watch all the other customers, some sitting down, others choosing bread .. and to gaze at the amazing variety of home baked breads!!!! Bagels, buns, loaves, French loaves, you name it! There is a counter with pasta dishes and other precooked food. The pasta dishes looked yummy! Quiches are lined on a counter - ready to be snatched up! Counters with ready-made salads and marinated vegetables are begging you to choose them. I chose the Duck Pancake with Orange ... oh my word. It was really deeeelicious!!!!! 2 Pancakes, stuffed with amazing shredded duck, served with an orange sauce and orange segments. This was truly a delight!!! Hein had the Fournos Farmhouse breakfast - well, you have to be hungry! A toasted croissant, 3 thin pieces of tasty sausage, bacon, 2 eggs AND CHUNKY POTATO WEDGES. Absolutely scrumptious!!! I called one of the managers, Shaun and complimented him on our food! Especially the duck pancake. Everything was perfectly cooked! And the Americano coffee .... strong, rich and flavorsome. Hmmm, I would have loved a small biscuit with the coffee though .... maybe that's something Fournos can incorporate? Especially since they have all the home baked goodies ... At 11am on a Saturday, this place was buzzing! In a good way! So go over there, feast on all their home baked goodies and have a fabulous breakfast.
