Karoo Cattle and Land (Tyger Valley)

On behalf of the CPUT Bellville Student Counselling Unit I would like to express our disappointment with regards the the service we received at your restaurant (Karoo Cattle and Land Tygervalley) today. The 6 of us had our Christmas Lunch there today at around 1pm. The restaurant was quiet with I think 2 or 3 other tables. Our service was incredibly slow to the point where I had to fetch menu's myself and even a teaspoon from the waiter station. We were looking forward to the unlimited salad as stated on the inside of the first page of the menu. Our waitress informed us that this was not on offer anymore. After we had all placed our orders the waitress came back to inform us that there was no chicken some of us had to look at the menu again to reorder. we were brought the bill before we were asked if we would like tea, coffee, or desert. We informed our waitress that we would like desert. Again after placing the order we were told that the kitchen had no ice cream. Seriously... To add insult to injury the bill was inaccurate and when we queried this the waitress said she had given us the wrong one and that their system is faulty. The whole experience left us all with a very bad taste although the food was out of this world. Not once did a manager come round to hear if everything was ok. This is totally unacceptable. I worked for many years in the restaurant industry as waitress, bar tender and supervisor and this sort of service (if I can call it that) is just unacceptable! we will certainly not recommend this establishment to anyone we know and like.
