Owner's description

Take a leisurely drive out of Cape Town, and visit the quaint and picturesque town of Riebeek-Kasteel. Nestled between the Cape Wine lands and the Swartland, where you’ll find a collection of eclectic surprises and hidden gems.
Bar Bar Black Sheep is one such gem. Recently bought over by Oude Wellington Restaurants owners, John & Susanna Tecklenburg.
Bar Bar Black Sheep has been open for business since March this year. Although locals may already be familiar with this restaurant, the Tecklenburgs have a big surprise up their sleeve…

Had a birthday dinner with friends at BBBS. Our host, Joseph Dhafana, was charming and his knowledge of the local wines was exceptional. The restaurant is small and has a cozy ambiance. Between the seven of us we tried most of the main courses and they were all, without exception, excellent. The wine list celebrates the local winemakers and with Joseph's guidance we tried out and enjoyed manyof the local wines - those of Eben Sadie were most memorable. I could not recommend this restaurant highly enough - it made for a very special evening.

Fun and funky, excellent food. I had the lamb burger - designer presentation. We'll be back. PS Loved the mist spray on a hot summer's day in the shaded courtyard.

This was my second time at Bar Bar Black Sheep and again this little restaurant stole my heart! The ambience is just so special! And the food very different to the normal run of the mill. I can definitely recommend the strawberry and parma ham starter!

Amazing ambience and service. Food great but Fillet was definitely less than 100g for R110.

Don’t sit on the stoep – the window sills are dirty. The mist sprayers drench you and a foul smell hangs in the air. For lunch we had the seafood curry which arrived at the table in a little pan, the sides and handle of which were caked in food residue. The most uninventive food - no chef could possibly put his name to this dish. The Pork Belly dish, which was so raved about on YouTube, is no longer on the menu. An unpleasant experience altogether.
