There’s no shortage of restaurants in Monte Casino, but it’s great to find a spot with good-quality food and options to please all palates. Some fantastic antipasti sharing platters are a great way to start for a big table; there are four different focaccia options that are good for sharing. If you would prefer a lighter starter, there are other easy options like the springbok carpaccio or caprese salad with yummy buffalo mozzarella.
For mains, the pizzas are thin-based and cooked in a wood-fire oven. You can design your own or choose from the list that includes a range of interesting toppings – deboned roast lamb shank being one of them. Pizza bases can be changed to wheat-free or banting, and vegan cheese is an option.
The pasta is made fresh daily and there’s a great selection of sauces to choose from – pastas can be swapped for zucchini spaghetti or gluten-free pasta. For something really different, ask about the pasta cooked in a parmesan wheel – a chef will come and prepare your pasta at your table in a huge hollowed-out wheel of parmesan cheese. If you’re looking for something a bit meatier, there’s a great selection of steaks.
Don’t forget to leave space for the decadent selection of desserts – keep a look out for the limoncello cheesecake and the Eton mess.
An extensive wine list is available, offering a good selection of champagne, MCC,and red and white wines. Wine pairings are suggested with a number of the meals on the menu. There’s also a great cocktail list.
Very friendly and welcoming. Waiters are attentive and helpful.
The restaurant picks up on the buzz of people walking through the centre. You can choose to sit on the walkway and people-watch or, if you prefer to sit inside the restaurant, it’s a little quieter.

My partner and I decided to visit Montecasino for my birthday dinner. As always, Montecasino offers a wide range of great restaurants. After a few minutes of exploring all the restaurants at the complex, we finally decided on Casa Bella as it had an inviting surrounding.
Upon arrival, we were greeted with a smile and was given a choice between the inside or the outside area. We chose the outside area next to the water fountain overlooking the casino.
Our waiter - Leonard was such a gem. He served us with a smile and we even enjoyed his company for a couple of minutes while deciding what to order. He knew the menu and recommended some dishes for us to try. However, since we were not looking for anything fancy or large, we went for the spatchcock chicken which was well seasoned and juicy. Accompanying the meat dish was the mash and the broccoli/cauliflower sides. The sides were just okay, nothing out of the ordinary.
In summary, it was a great evening and I will surely visit again to try other dishes offered.
The food is always outstanding!
These days trying to find an Italian restaurant that serves homemade pasta that is still delicious proves to be more than challenging, but with the Casa Bella in Montecasino it has become our go-to for all of our Italian food cravings! The portions are always generous and they are reasonably priced for what you get.
The complimentary gnocco fritto are a sure winner as well!
Casa Bella has to be one of the best restaurants at Monte Casino. The staff are friendly and they try and accommodate you however possible! I've tried a few of their dishes over time and thigh had to write this review.. my favorite being the fillet saltimbocca was absolutely delicious.. They also do a yummy lamb shank and parmesan crusted chicken! The atmosphere is lovely and everything you want for an evening out with family or friends..
