Owner's description

Established in 1992, Col’Cacchio pizzeria specialises in traditionally inspired Italian food with its crisp, thin-based pizzas and a variety of freshly prepared salads and pastas. After 22 years, Col’Cacchio pizzeria has 28 branches nationwide and aims to be the “pizzeria unico” for consumers who want consistent, healthy food in a casually sophisticated environment. Top quality ingredients are sourced to ensure the food is nutritious and fresh. The restaurant’s location, off a small square in a modern urban setting, gives it a particularly European feel. The menu provides a wide choice of combinations and dishes, with over 50 different pizzas, 20 salads and 20 pasta options. Items range from traditional favourites like the Principessa pizza – classic Margherita made with fior di latte mozzarella, topped with cherry tomatoes, fresh basil and a drizzle of olive oil – to more exotic dishes like the La Zizou pizza made with seven-hour lamb stew, balsamic cherry tomatoes, spring onion, garlic, fresh basil and basil-pesto mayonnaise. There are options for those with food allergies or restricted diets, such as yeast-free, sugar-free, dairy-free, wheat- and gluten-free pizza bases, as well as wheat- and gluten-free pasta. There are no added preservatives or added MSG in any dishes.

If there was 0 stars to rate this establishment I would, especially the Stellenbosch branch, all the other branches are excellent, my family and I went to visit today with the impression on using the entertainer as we always do, I spoke with Paul one of the waitrons who advised that the app establishment no longer accepts the entertainer as of 4 years ago, this is absolute nonsense as we were in the restaurant and we used the app at the time, we were then advised to speak to the manager in a very cocky manner as if we didn't know what we were speaking about, the Manager Nyasha told me that the entertainer app only shows the somerset west branch, when I opened the app and showed her the Stellenbosch branch is listed she paused as if she just realized she was talking nonsense to me at first she told me that she will honour it if she can see its the Stellenbosch branch, but to my surprise she declined and advised she will not honour the meals, she advised the owner is overseas and they also wont honour it because they have decided to cancel it, well if you knew this, as a very successful establishment you should contact the entertainer directly and advise them to remove you and avoid clients coming to the place to redeem like me, this was the worst experience I have had, this is my favourite restaurant in Stellenbosch and it will be the last time I will ever come here, they literally refused to give it to us, its not our duty to contact the entertainer its your duty Owner!!!! Nyasha was extremely rude and didnt even allow me the time to speak and explain. Very embarrasing experience, I wouldnt recommend this branch purely because of the service, if you want to visit, please visit all the other branches!

The stellenbosch branch has the worst management I have ever seen. I am utterly surprised that this restaurant has not closed down yet due to terrible managers. The many managers can never be found when there is a problem and even if they can be found they blame the waiters for problems occurring in the kitchen, bar or payment machines. The waiters are great at their jobs and I've often seen them treated unfairly. Personally this restaurant would function much better if it treated its staff better, fixed all its broken machinery and got rid of the ghastly managers who perform no function at all. At this point in time this restaurant is merely a waste of time.

Ok, pizzas are average. But hygiene is below average! I watched the waitress. After the pizza is cooked, the waitress (without cleaning her hands) touches the parma ham and puts it on the pizza. She then rubs her hands on her jeans - the buttock side of her jeans to be specific. She then takes pizza to paying customer. She then bends to take somthing from the fridge and oops then pulls up her jeans from behind and continues the ritual of then putting avocado on the pizza of her next cusotmer. Of course she is too busy to wash her hands! Yuk!

Good service, amazing pizza but questionable dessert. The Lindt trio was different to what I had at other branches.
Wow, what can I say. Truly a gastronomic experience. Great music choice to add to the ambience and attentive service. The meals are of supurb quality. Keep it up guys.
