Owner's description

Established in 1992, Col’Cacchio pizzeria specialises in traditionally inspired Italian food with its crisp, thin-based pizzas and a variety of freshly prepared salads and pastas. After 22 years, Col’Cacchio pizzeria has 28 branches nationwide and aims to be the “pizzeria unico” for consumers who want consistent, healthy food in a casually sophisticated environment. Top quality ingredients are sourced to ensure the food is nutritious and fresh. The menu provides a wide choice of combinations and dishes, with over 50 different pizzas, 20 salads and 20 pasta options. Items range from traditional favourites like the Principessa pizza – classic Margherita made with fior di latte mozzarella, topped with cherry tomatoes, fresh basil and a drizzle of olive oil – to more exotic dishes like the La Zizou pizza made with seven-hour lamb stew, balsamic cherry tomatoes, spring onion, garlic, fresh basil and basil-pesto mayonnaise. There are options for those with food allergies or restricted diets, such as yeast-free, sugar-free, dairy-free, wheat- and gluten-free pizza bases, as well as wheat- and gluten-free pasta. There are no added preservatives or added MSG in any dishes.

Still the best pizza with interesting toppings.
We had a very bad experience last night. My wife and I and a business colleague went for dinner at about 6h30pm We were shown to a corner table ,were served our drinks and given menus Fifteen minutes into the meal the young manageress asked us to move because another lady "who had been there 15 minutes before wanted the table back. We asked where the reserved sign was( There wasnt one!) and asked why we were going to be bumped. No explanation just a shrug from the manageress We decided to move to avoid a scene,we had to carry our own drinks to the new table and one of the menus disappeared. We sat down at a cramped table which looked like it was squeezed in as an afterthought No apologies,no free coffees,no interest,no thank you. My Principessa was not bad the Mogul our guest had was soggy despite having minimal yogurt. The cheesecake wasnt cake but a deconstructed mess that tasted of raw egg. When the guest asked about it she was told "This is how we make it here" Wow have they fallen far from the early days when you got good service and great pizza. Goodbye Cal'cacchio wont be seeing you soon
What an absolute disaster of an evening!!! We frequent this restaurant quite often as a family but tonight we went as a fairly large group(12 adults and 14children). It took forever to get our food. We arrived at 18:00. At 21:20 the last adults pizza finally arrived. They completely forgot some of the orders and the kids food came later than the adults food. I can't say who's fault it was but it was unexceptable. Finally I paid at 21:45. After 3 people got up and went to ask for the bill....It will be a long while before they see me again. Primi will get my patronage in future.
We love Col'Caccio at Willowbridge, Tyger Valley. The Cedriano and Parma pizzas are divine and the kids always enjoy their food too.
This restaurant is exploiting their patrons with absurd prices on specifically the Pongracz Rose at R295 per bottle! Watch out everyone! Not even the best steakhouse in Cape Town, the 5 star Carne, charges such absurd prices! Carne charges R220 per bottle! Colcacchio is not even in the same league as Carne but they charge way more than Carne. Cafe Magnifico in the same centre charges R188 per bottle! Colcacchio is taking their patrons for a ride! I brought this to the attention of the specific restaurant and Head Office but they just offer long explanation that avoid the facts, which is that this is daylight robbery! Beware everyone!

You can buy a bottle from the cellar at R120. We all know restaurants and or their suppliers get wholesale prices, so they are definitely not paying R120 per bottle! But even at R120 per bottle, it would mean by selling it at R295, they have a 150% mark-up! That is just absurd and they are really exploiting their patrons!

I will not support a chain like this! Beware - don't let restaurants take advantage of you!
