You pay R50 to enter on a quiet evening, then they give you proof that you have paid. But if you decide to get something in the car only then they force you to pay R50 AGAIN for entry. I will not advise anyone to support such a money-loving business
Having been a local in Mosselbay now for 4 years and never having gone to De Dekke, my wife and I decided to go there with some friends we haven't seen for a while. Beforehand we phoned and the manager assured us there was plenty to do for the kids. Upon arrival we were greeted by .....no one. We had a drink at the bar eventually after we found the barman hanging out in the kitchen. There was NO entertainment for the kids with the exception of a gumball machine. After finding our own table and cleaning cigarette ash off the table we waited for about 30minutes. A guy came walking past and we asked him for menu's. He gave us a very confused look and arrived with menus a little later. Not once were we informed that it was a self service restaurant. When we ordered I was informed that they don't have any pizza bases. All their food tastes the same. The steak, Chicken, Burgers and Bolognaise would have made a blindfolded masterclass food critic doubt his abilities to tell the meals apart. It is a glorified roadhouse / bad pub. Along with this we phoned the manager before hand and asked if we should book as we wanted to come at 1:30pm. he said no bookings needed (could see why cause the place was EMPTY) at 3:30pm the manager proceeded to tell us that the place closed at 3pm and we must leave, just after ordering a last round from the bar. I will never go back there and I will never recommend it to anyone. In a area like this with so many restaurants to choose from they really need to step up their game to survive.
