Not a fan of restaurants that overlook a parking lot although great care is taken to compensate for this. I love their pizza sauce so much so that I request an extra spoon of it on their Hawaiian pizza.
I'm not a great fan of restaurant's in malls. And that's the only thing I can fault about Pomodoro (ambience score of 3). Outside of that it was an incredible experience. The food was yummy. I had their Classic Spaghetti Carbonara, and thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful. The service was great. I could defs re-visit Pmodoro sometime in the future
The food was delicious and the dessert was out of this world! The atmosphere is relaxed and comfy. The only problem was the poor service. There was no maitre d' present (that we could see at least) and the waiters were more interested in talking to each other than tending to their tables. We started to wonder if we had turned invisible at some point.
Well, the host greeted us at least. And the manager was 10 times more interested in us than our waiter. The ambience and seating were fantastic! However, I only really began to taste the food towards the end of the dish. Highlight: my ridiculously expensive Toni Glass Ice Tea (Kiwi Cucumber and Mint). :'D
Visiting from Cape Town, Nisha and I lunched at Pomodoro, Morningside, on Sunday, 30th March 2014.

Not even a welcome on arrival.

The pizza bread was nice. The rest AWFUL!

Both Pizza Zucca Gorgonzola and Spaghetti alla Napolitana (modified to Arrabbiata with an excessive amount of Chilli!) dishes had to be left uneaten and would have been sent back to the kitchen if a waiter's attention could be caught!

The 2 waiters (one took the order, another plonked down the drinks and food) were surly and unenthusiastic. Why I left a tip, I don't really know!

Definitely the WORST "Italian" food we've ever experienced. No love for cooking in that cucina!

Time became tight, we were in a hurry and no manager to be seen, so was should have been discussed wasn't.

    Be warned, folks!
