5 star 5 course tasting menu

Wow, were we surprised with this new option at the Royal Hotel's restaurant. If pre-ordered before 5 pm, you have the option to buy yourself a great 5 course tasting menu for ZAR 125 only.
The tasting menu consists of a cold starter (delicious veggie rolls), a warm starter (shrimp and calamari sautés), a fish course (kingklip with divine mash potato), a meat (beef) course and a desert.

Start your gourmet experience with a wonderful G&T (ever tried amber gin?) and complete your diner with the wonderful wines form the Swartland.

A true royal treat, that should be known and tasted by everyone.

THis hotel now offers a fixed price five course dinner which, when we went last, included calamari, beetroot carpaccio, grilled kingklip, an excellent chicken dish plus a delectable sweet. This was beautifully served and presented. Good leisurely service. We sat with a spectacular view of the Kasteelberg and vineyards cascading down the slopes. The remarkable thing is the cost - R98 for all five courses! Incredible value.

Classy place with surprisingly fair prices. The food was excellent and service very friendly. Oh, and best wine list in town.

I love this old-school country hotel for its setting and grand style.
