Home made ice cream in exciting and exotic flavours, gourmet burgers, great breakfasts and coffee and much more can be found here at Service Station. The lunch buffet is quite popular as well.
The lunch buffet at Service Station is what keeps me coming back time and time again. Its feels like a healthy Sunday Lunch spread, thinks home-cooked quiches, beautiful salads and roasted vegetables. You pay for the meal by the weight of your plate. There are not many places in Jozi where you can get a meal like this for R55.00.
Besides the mouth watering menu, the large glass windows make this space a breezy, uplifting space to meet friends, have a wholesome meal or to some work alone (there is a nice big workspace at the back and yes, there is free Wi-Fi!)
I used to like this restaurant, but I won't be going back.
At R75 pp for an english breakfast one would expect more: 35 minutes to arrive (after asking where it was) and the food was luke-warm. I'd asked for hard eggs, but they were runny. There were three very small, thin pieces of bacon approximately 4cm long (I jest not!) but perhaps the presence of an edible flower was supposed to make up for it. The tomatoes were bland ... nothing going for it. Trading on the "cool factor" will only go so far I'm afraid!
I love the Service Station for breakfast - their food is consistently good on each visit! I highly recommend the Brioche French Toast.
