Seventeen07, situated at the Erinvale Estate Hotel and Spa, was named to commemorate the historic date of 1707. This was the year that the estate was liberated from the estate of former-governor Willem Adrian van der Stel, Vergelegen. Seventeen07 celebrates the cultural impact of the original Dutch settlers, who established their settlements in the southern tip of Africa to supply their ships on the Spice Route to the Orient. To honour this history, the restaurant pays tribute to the spices that formed and influenced local South African cuisine. The dining experience includes dishes from Africa and the East, including Madagascar, Zanzibar, India and Malaysia.
