Owner's description

From a relaxed breakfast to a celebratory high tea, served in silver teapots with teatime treats on Royal Albert, The Patisserie is the perfect place to meet. Famous for its authentic Parisian macaroons, petit fours, red velvet cupcakes and Mille Feuille, you’ll find it hard to pick just one!

Lovely little spot for divine cakes and sweet things. The selection and quality of the pastries and cakes are great. And you can also get fabulous breakfasts here.

I love this quaint tea shop, the treats are always fresh and delish. The service is professional and friendly and the happiness one gets from walking into this hidden peice of Paris is pure joy.

It is divine. The food and ambience are unparalleled. However it can be a bit pricey (R10 for a tiny macaroon; R95 for a salmon fishcake and salad). Not for the common folk, unless you plan to have a single cup of coffee.
The Patisserie is quite easily the most decadent place in Johannesburg ... petit fois, macaroons, brownies and almost-too-beautiful-to eat cupcakes ... one word, HEAVENLY! My only fear is that too many people will discover the deliciousness that is The Patisserie ... and turn it into an it place, thus stripping it of its quaintness ...
I hate telling everyone about this wonderful place! Too few tables. The scrambled egss are soft and creamy and great toast! The cakes and pastries, well you will want to eat and buy to take home. The pies are delicious as well. Thank goodness the owner is expanding into the shop next door. A MUST for ladies who lunch, as they give you a snugly pink mohair blanket to put over your knees to keep you warm! I have taken a great many of my frineds there and never been dissapointed.
