Food:

This is a family-run concern with owner Gita helped by her dad and daughter. She recently opened an African-inspired restaurant in Mumbai but currently her focus is on this smart Pretoria pad. The emphasis is on fine cuisine that covers the whole Indian continent. From starters to main course, they’re constantly revamping and reinventing while keeping the traditional Indian flavours a constant. They’re on their one-millionth recipe, and proud of it. Try their fine cuisine, which currently is in a class of its own. Plated with a nod to the Western eye, the food is from the heart and soul of India.

Wine:

Their wine list is expansive and, as with everything else in this restaurant, the options are generous, with exotic cocktails with or without alcohol or try some of their flavoured teas.

Service:

It’s friendly, with the family keeping a close eye, and advice on the detailed menu readily available.

Ambience:

One never knows if the interiors will be changed from one visit to the next but for the moment, the hot favourites are the Moghul room where you can dine in traditional Indian style, and the balcony Indian street style.

And...:

And…It’s the kind of place where every meal is an occasion. (DdeB, September 2010)
