Bamboo Sushi Lounge (Umhlanga)

Get your girlfriends together and make a night of it every Thursday at Bamboo Sushi Lounge for Ladies’ Night. For R175 per person you can enjoy the sushi buffet, and parties of four or more will receive a complimentary bottle of wine to wash it all down. But the specials aren’t limited to ladies – from Mondays to Sundays between 11.30am and 9pm, everyone pays half price for sushi.

Beluga (Umhlanga)

Regulars at Beluga will know the sushi special all too well. For those who’ve yet to catch on, the best time to pop in for some sushi is between 11am and 7pm on Mondays to Saturdays, as well as any time on a Sunday. That’s when cocktails, sushi, dim sum and spring rolls go for half price.

Bell and Anchor (Scottburgh)

Celebrate hump day and satisfy your sushi craving every Wednesday night at Bell and Anchor, when sushi is on offer for half price.

Bite Your Tongue (Durban North)

Considered by many to serve the best sushi in town, the Chinese restaurant also treats its patrons to half-price specials on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Give it a shot and see if you agree with its loyal fans.

C-Bali (St Michaels on Sea)

Just steps away from the beach, this vibey restaurant serves a variety of the freshest seafood every day. But if you stop by on a Tuesday, you’ll soon discover ‘Crazy Sushi Tuesdays’, when selected sushi is available at half price from 5pm until closing time.

Every day is a good day to visit Jack Salmon. Sushi specials are available Mondays to Sundays. Specials include half-price selected sushi and 30% off sushi platters.

John Dory’s (nationwide)

As their slogan states: “Everyone loves John Dory’s” and that’s especially true for sushi fans after a good deal. Every Wednesday, the outlets around the country offer half-price sushi. Or from 11am to 4pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays you can choose any three green plates off the sushi belt for just R99.

Saki Pacific Grill (Pietermaritzburg)

Sushi and sports might not be the most obvious pairing but at Saki it works, particularly on Tuesdays, when you can eat as much sushi as you like for R185 per person. Else enjoy a smaller feast with the half-price sushi offering. Thursday is Ladies’ Night, which means from 6pm to 11.30pm, women can enjoy half-price sushi (and a free cocktail with any main meal).

Takami Sushi Bar (Gillitts)

Visit any day of the week and you can take advantage of a good deal. From Mondays to Thursdays there’s the buy-one-get-one-free special and from Fridays to Sundays you can receive a 30% discount on sushi.

Q4 Prawns (Hillcrest)

Expect a relaxed atmosphere, a stunning location and delicious fare at Q4 Prawns. If you happen to be here on a Wednesday or Friday between 11.30 and 9pm, you can enjoy a three-piece sushi meal for just R29.
