23 Sept (Tuesday) we took some friends from Durban, for lunch at Man'Oushe, as we often eat there. We did phone to make a reservation, which we were told it was not necessary as it is not so busy during the week for lunch. Arriving there, there were only tables available on the side walk (the tables and chairs were so dirty, we could not even sit down), right next to the cars - we were 4 adults, with 2 babies. After trying to clean the tables/chairs ourselves, they managed to give us a table inside (the high table in the corner, under the speaker), which we accepted to our regret...the music was turned on loud, we could not even speak to each other without shouting or just giving up on the conversation. We requested, the waiter, several times to please turn the music down but was told the chef insist that the "boss" will walk and it is part of the vibe. I eventually walked up to the chef and kindly requested they turn the music down, as we have not seen our friends for a long time and would like to have some conversation and at least hear each other, he rudely refused and said the "boss" would fire him if he does.
