  • Excellent food Love the calamari ,peri-peri chicken livers, hog ribs ,Hollandse steak, steak with superb bearniase sause. Steaks done perfectly Service excellent. Desserts to die for with chocolate vodca martini top of the list. A regular favourite restaurant for us. PS : To Mr Wiggins who posted TWO bad reviews ,even on the food ,because they could not use the bathrooms while eating at the next door restaurant: there are public facilities close by ,accessible by a lift and wheelchair.

  • I love the Hussar Grill Willowbridge, Had the opportunity to enjoy a steak dinner here with my colleagues and CEO. For 2 years in a row now we go there for our year end dinner and I'm sure we will continue to go there for many more years to come. Setting: Great atmosphere and good service rating. Food: Good sized portions and prepared perfectly to expectations All around experience: 5 star - Will definitely go again.

  • Our experience at hussar grill has always been average ,but as we are situated in the area we support them. Today we had a light lunch at simply asia, and my daughter on cruches needed a bathroom.we didnt want her to use the bathrooms one floor down at the gym,so she asked the owner of hussar it is possible to quickly use theirs.he refused and was extremely rude with thw kids. I walked up to him and explained her situation .he just got more rude and said he doesnt need our bussiness.he had company who i believed was his wife and a older friend who was so embarrased. I could believe that a franchiseholder would act that way representing a bigger group. A thumbs down to this restaurant.they are not in to serve the community that visits them rain or sunshine. Spend your money wisely at calcuccio and caffe magnifico family restaurants.we cannot afford to dine at restaurants where there is no compassion for our familys.

  • We went to Hussars Grill for the first time in December 2013 - it was great! Good service, fantastic food, nice atmosphere! The tables are a bit close to each other but not too much of a problem.

  • We have been patrons of Hussar since 1969. I think that says something about the quality of this establisment as we are carnivors! I always have the Steak Tartare (almost always!) which is in the top 3 I have tasted. Last night we visited again and as always the Steak Tartare was excellent. However, the second time in a row we had to send back my wife's rump steak being overcooked. The second one was okay, but not of the standard we are used to for over 40 years and it was the recommended cut!
PS, As my Steak Tartare was a little on the "dry" side - I ordered an extra egg. Please be careful, they must have a golden hen in the kitchen as Hussar added R10 to the bill for the egg yoke!

  • Cold steaks, cold chips, cold sides. Poor service. Disappointed after hearing all the good reviews. I am sticking to the Baron.

  • A wonderful spot in Willowbridge and they have consistently served excellent meals to us each time we have visited. The waitron staff are very knowledgable about the meat sold and offer good suggestions for items to accompany the meal. The restaurant is very cosy, particularly so in winter with the fireplace and "library decorated section". Watch out for wonderful specials in the winter time.

  • Most disappointing service at Hussar Grill Willowbridge this evening. Our waiters name was Craig and he was more interested in the rugby game than serving the tables, he kept disappearing and after dessert went missing needless to say, we were not the only table that had something to say about this. Most disappointing as we frequently had dinner here. Will not return to Hussar Grill - Willowbrige.

  • Ive eaten at Hussar Grill before and normally the food is exceptional, the best steaks and grills and a beautiful wine list. Unfortunately, this time round this was sadly not the case. We arrived and were seated for a quick lunch. For a pre-order snack, some sweet potato crisps were provided, which is a great idea and a nice gesture, but these need to be seasoned. I know they are only sweet potato crisps, but even sweet potato crisps need to be seasoned properly. I ordered a Beef Kebab with Mash Potato and although, it looked very delicious when it arrived at the table, the most important part of any dish was sadly neglected. The kebabs were under seasoned and overcooked. I ordered them medium and got them medium-well, dry on the inside and slightly burnt on the outside. When I checked with my guests they also mentioned that their ribs were very dry. Having said all that, the rest of the meal was great. The mash was seasoned just right, the hollandaise sauce wasnt splitting and the service was outstanding. I will go there again and give them another shot at the title, because this is one out of many good experiences that was less desirable. Unfortunately for this particular occasion, they only receive two Young stars. In the famous words of Schwarzenegger, Ill be back!

  • I am so glad that they opened a Hussar Grill in Willowbridge. The tomato soup is unbelievably delicious and the steaks are to die for! The Hussar is certainly my first choice when I am in the mood for steak.
